Bandipora, Sep 23 (KNO): Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar-IPS, on Wednesday visited Bandipora district to assess the prevailing security situation, law and order preparedness, crime scenario and operational readiness of the police force.
The IGP, according to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), was accompanied by DIG North Kashmir Range, Dr. Vinod Kumar-IPS. During his visit, a detailed security review meeting was held at the Conference Hall of District Police Lines (DPL), Bandipora.
SSP Bandipora, Ajaz Ahmed Zargar-JKPS, briefed the IGP on various aspects of policing in the district, including the overall security situation, counter-terrorism measures, intelligence inputs, area domination, security arrangements at vulnerable locations, law and order preparedness and the prevailing crime scenario.
The meeting was attended by Additional SP Bandipora and all Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) of the district.
During the review, IGP Sujit Kumar stressed the need for strengthening public-friendly policing, improving the disposal of criminal cases and enhancing operational preparedness in line with emerging field requirements.
He directed officers and personnel to maintain heightened vigilance and ensure a prompt and effective response to emerging security and law and order challenges.
The IGP also appreciated the dedication and professionalism displayed by police personnel in the district and urged them to continue discharging their responsibilities with commitment towards ensuring the safety and security of the public—(KNO)
